The proper twirling shoe is essential when you get serious about twirling. Here at Star Line Batons, we offer many different types of shoes. For twirling, we highly recommend the Instep Shoe – a canvas twirling shoe with vinyl, “leather-looking” stripping. These shoes have a sleek design and look great on the feet of any twirler. The shoes have a treaded PVC sole, which gives traction while still allowing for spins.
InStep shoes are both lightweight and flexible. They allow for excellent toe point because of their flexibility. The best part is – they are machine washable! So when you’ve been practicing for months and they start to get dirty, and not to mention a little smelly, you can just throw them in the wash and they will be as good as new!

We offer InStep shoes available in white, black and tan for $37.50 a pair. To order InStep shoes today, click here or call 931-839-7654!

Baton practice caps are a great accessory for your baton. Practice caps cover the white rubber tips of your baton so that they can stay clean and white. It is best to have clean white baton ends for performances and competitions because your baton looks really sharp when the ends are clean. Practice caps also protect your baton’s rubber ends from wear and tear due to normal use.
But for when you are practicing your baton routine for an upcoming performance, practice caps can add bright and fun color! Pick your favorite color and add it to your baton! Some baton teams even have matching practice caps, using their team colors, to create a sense of unity with fellow twirlers on their team.

Practice caps are available in many bright colors including red, white, pink, purple, and blue! Our practice caps come in a set including a large end and a small end. Practice caps make great gifts for your twirler. To order practice caps from us, click here or call 931-839-7654.

We’ve had fun with baton twirling for decades here in the states, but did you know it originated in Eastern Europe and Asia? The first “batons” twirled were far more lethal, often consisting of knives, guns, and torches (sounds a lot more like a circus act!). The act of twirling objects gained traction and became quite popular within armies. This meant eventually twirling rifles during marches and parades.
After more advancements throughout the course of history, the baton became what it is today. The sport made its way to the United States after the Civil War era, and different organizations were created to showcase the professionalism that started with professional baton twirling. Are you a part of any of the following baton organizations?
WBTF-World Baton Twirling Federation
WTA-World Twirling Association
NBTA-The Global Alliance of National Baton Twirling & Majorette Associations
All Star Line Batons are world renowned for engineered quality and design and are available in every inch. To order a Star Line baton today, shop online or call 931-839-7654.

Need help picking the right baton for yourself? The first thing you need to know when picking out a baton is what length and diameter is right for you.
Determining the length: Measure on top of your arm from your neck to your longest finger. That measurement is the correct length to order. Children under 6 may want to add 2” to the size so they don’t grow out of their baton too soon.
Determining the diameter: The diameter is the thickness of the baton shaft. The 3/8” is the standard and best for beginners. The 7/16” is thicker and should only be used if you have already twirled with a 3/8” diameter baton and prefer a thicker feel.
Now that you know the length and diameter you need, Star Line Batons has five types of batons to offer – each is made on non-bending, chrome-plated steel, and weighted for top performance.

Fluted Super Star Baton:
The world’s most popular baton. It has been used by State, Regional, and World Champions for years. The unique star shaped ball won’t allow the baton to roll away when dropped. It is manufactured of the finest materials available.
Venus:
A classic beauty with dimensional stars on the ball and hand-hammered bands on 3/8in. shaft.
Comet:
Has sleek ball and tip and dimpled 3/8in. shaft. One of our most popular batons for those who want to be able to gauge hand placement.
Starlet:
Most popular model for class participants; has plain 3/8in. shaft. Many coaches/teachers prefer this baton for beginner students. No ‘bells or whistles’, but a great baton.
Lite Star:
A world class competition baton available only in the 7/16 inch shaft. It is truly the baton that can do anything the athlete can do. It is balanced perfectly for fast rotation, rolls, and ease of handling for contact material.
All Star Line batons are world renowned for engineered quality and design and are available in every inch. To order a Star Line baton today, shop online or call 931-839-7654.

Starline Baton has all you need to purchase to become an expert baton twirler, but then it is up to you. In order to be successful at baton twirling like Jennifer Marcus, you have to be sure you work and practice very hard.

One rule of thumb is to give yourself at least 30 minutes of practice everyday. By practicing everyday, your body gets used to the moves and you won’t have to make up time by forgotten skills. Also, practice with others. You can learn from your friends mistakes and accomplishments, but make sure you stay focused!

Twirling isn’t a normal expression of art and culture. It is a unique opportunity for people of all ages to show their artistic spirit while promoting great physical fitness, resulting in positive self-esteem. Beginning at any age, twirling is advantageous for a number of reason. For the young ones, it hones in on spatial skills and developing motor skills and hand-eye coordination. For the older twirlers, it assists with developing strength, stamina, and flexibility.
In addition to being an amazing physical activity, twirling instills the importance of teamwork, good sportsmanship, and an introduction to the benefits of a competitive nature. Twirling has also become a largely recognized activity-many events and competitions are held in the United States, and some colleges actually offer scholarships to the most proficient twirlers.
